If nothing else one has to give credit to the WWE for attempting to spread out further than the squared circle. While their attempt at a recent football franchise failed, their diving into the world of film has done well for them. Some movies hit highs and some tumble to lows but they’re almost always bright. They also provide a jumping board for the careers of their wrestlers. Such is the case with John Cena.

Buy,Download, Or Stream 12 Rounds! Click Here

Cena has starred in one film already, the well received THE MARINE. An action film seemed a natural leap for him and he did a pleasing job handling acting and action chores both with ease. The next step was finding a follow up vehicle and that came about with the novel release 12 ROUNDS.

Cena stars as Current Orleans policeman Danny Fisher who winds up by circumstance in the middle of an FBI hunt to track down a terrorist named Miles Jackson (Aidan Gillen) . A paddle follows and after he stops the terrorist, Jackson tells his girlfriend to urge before he takes the time to leer an oncoming truck in her path. Blaming Fisher for her death, he swears they’ll meet again.

Buy,Download, Or Stream 12 Rounds! Click Here

Fast forward one year later and Danny is now a detective. He heads to work only to fetch a phone call. It’s Jackson and he informs Danny that he’s taken Danny’s girlfriend Molly (Ashley Scott) hostage. Objective to let him know he’s serious, Jackson blows up Danny and Molly’s house while Danny watches. He then tells him they’re going to play a game with the life of Molly hanging in the balance. All Danny has to do is procure the majority of the 12 rounds Jackson has planned for him.

Danny contacts his partner on the force for assistance and then heads out to seize on the first round. Each one sets him up for a life or death spot for either himself or some innocent person who finds themselves keen in helping him. While he rejoices at the wins, he begins to feel guilty over the losses as they involve the death or injury of someone else.

Along the contrivance the FBI become fervent since they’ve been watching all along. Of course Danny’s not to eager to work with them since they failed to suppose him earlier of the prison atomize arresting Jackson. Unlikely allies start to work together to try and hold down this angry man while saving Molly at the same time.

Steve Harris stars as Special Agent George Aiken, the main agent in charge of catching Jackson from the commence. His concerns focus more on the recapture than on saving Molly. Of course this results in head to head conflict with Danny and his goal of saving the woman he loves. Agent Aiken has a personal reason for wanting Jackson caught as well but eventually realizes he may have assign his personal interests above the life of this woman.

The clock is ticking and with only so many hours allotted for Danny to complete all of his tasks, he struggles to come by a intention to beat Jackson at his acquire game. Beaten down, battered along the plan, the final showdown approaches. Only then will we peruse who wins and who loses the game of 12 rounds.

Cena does a radiant job here with only one jam. He’s never given considerable chance to act. Perhaps that’s the plan, giving him unbiased enough moments to convince people of his sincerity but for the most fraction unbiased jumping, running and fighting to advance the films conclusion. Cena can do a decent job of acting but unless he’s given the opportunity, his chances of a long term career in film dwindles.

While the film does offer the requisite amount of action with minimal amount of state, the twists and turns Jackson puts Danny through are current for the most allotment. But as I was watching this film I kept thinking I’d seen it before. It was only after I was reminded by a friend that I do it all together and realized that Bruce Willis was stunning distinguished achieve through the paces of games that kept him running in DIE HARD 3. While this film is not an sincere copy, the overall feeling creeps in at times.

That being said, it remains a ravishing fragment of entertainment. The production values are well done and all the money spent to invent the recount shows on the mask. Rarely has Original Orleans looked this wonderful and with the terrible press of Katrina, it’s nice to explore the locale frail once again.

All in all you won’t do injurious by renting this film to observe. And for Cena fans, you’ll want to add it to your collection. But let’s hope that he gets the chance to stretch himself a small further in his next film. Only then can he hope to do greater stardom rather than gather himself in the straight to DVD category.

In his earlier movie, John Cena was The Marine, which was not very well received. In 12 Rounds, he stars as Detective Danny Fischer of Unique Orleans Police Department. This movie is definitely a step up from The Marine as Cena has developed his acting and action skills further. The record is bright and the action sequences are spectacular but one gets the feeling of having seen it all somewhere before. The bus bomb sequence is ripped from Accelerate – the bus number here is 5050, in Race it is 2525. The blowing up of Cena’s partner is another scene that takes me befriend to Accelerate [Blu-ray]. The streetcar sequence is somewhat similar to the articulate sequence in Spider-Man 2, but the action is more `human’ than superhuman, so to remark. Others remind me of the various Die Hard movies.

Nevertheless, the director and the writers deserve credit for integrating all these sequences into a seamless whole so that it does not feel contrived or even impossible (we know it is) . Aiden Gillen is reliable as the villain of the allotment, terrorist Miles Jackson. For once, the hero in this movie does not try to do everything on his bear – he reluctantly agrees to FBI cooperation.

It is also gigantic to explore Fresh Orleans being ragged as a locale for an action film. We are quite traditional to seeing L.A., Fresh York and Chicago as a backdrop for action movies, but this was a revelation. The city looks elegant on blu-ray and even the many night scenes are well done. The film makers have gone to ample lengths to consume authentic settings, though I do not know the extent to which they old FX and CGI. The ending of the film was never in doubt, but it was a fitting finale. I have not yet seen the alternative endings, though. One word about the Digital Copy – it suffers from too many artifacts in some speedy gripping scenes, but the overall presentation is ample.

Cena’s acting career is honest starting to assume off and this is a mighty better outing than The Marine. The future can only be brighter. This film can heartily be recommended for all action lovers.
Leather Mens Watch
Samsung 3d Plasma TV

If you like to glance a movie that will retain you on the edge of your seat with mammoth special effects and unbelievable, honest to life character interactions, I definitely recommend Ron Howard’s Backdraft. The interactions among all the actors approach across as very natural, as if all the actors where actually who they were playing, making the characters more believable. Not only are the characters believable, but the special effects that continue through out the movie, whether ample or tiny, pull everything together to develop Backdraft one of the best films I have ever seen. The basis of this movie is that people around the Chicago status are dying by draw of these backdrafts. It is up to the arson investigator, played by Robert DeNiro to gain out what is going on. The other characters interested are two brothers who’s father died serving the same fire department they work for. Kurt Russell plays the oldest brother, Lieutenant Stephen ‘Bull’ McCaffrey, who has been with the force for many years, and William Baldwin plays the younger brother, Brian McCaffrey who unprejudiced joined the force. Throughout the movie the two brothers battle conflict with each other relating to sibling rivalry among other things, and Brian ends up leaving the force to join the arson investigating office.. Other characters keen around the two brothers are Rebecca De Mornay, who plays Helen McCaffrey, the ex-wife of Kurt Russell. Her fraction is not that vast, but the importance of her character in regards to Kurt Russell is definitely noticeable, and the friendship that collected exists between them is easy to portray to. Jennifer Jason Leigh, who plays Jennifer Vaitkus, the ex-girlfriend of William Baldwin, has a bit of a larger role. Not only does she appear from William Baldwin’s past, but she now holds the site of Assistant to the Alderman, to whom many contacts will be made. Donald Sutherland, who plays Ronald Bartel, a primitive arsonist who understands the criminal psychology of pyromaniacs, gives insight to the arson investigation team, by sharing some of his maintain stories of arson from his past. Scott Glenn plays the role as a fellow firefighter “Axe” Adcox. His character is that of a supporting brotherly figure, to which is not quite appreciated. Finally there is J.T. Walsh, who gives an trustworthy supporting performance as the sleazy Alderman Swayczak. He is responsible for making changes within the Chicago fire department that do not help the department all that well. All of the actors work tall together, and seem natural among one another. These special effects, by far, compose the movie mesmerizing. Not only do you leer the fire as it threatens the characters and destroys everything in its path, but you derive to scrutinize an insight of how fire really moves, how it breaths, and how it can dance and screen with the wink of the peek. One particular scene, where a building is on fire and the two brothers must go in after a slight boy, really give you the feeling of being up stop and personal with the fire around them.. You feel the dread of being distress along the anticipation of trying to build the life of the slight boy apt along side the characters. The combination of huge characters and believable situations, originate this memoir memorable. The anecdote, written by Gregory Widen, is not only fleshy of action, but in some situations, it shows how life really is.. Whether it is the friction felt by siblings trying to live up to fallacious expectations of one another, or doing the fair thing when it comes to your job and your personal friendships, nothing in this narrative appears impossible. Over all a stout combination of characters, actors and producer that design one heck of a noble film.

This is actually a 2-disc “Anniversary” special edition.

Homosexuality in the Muslim World

Amos Lassen

Buy,Download, Or Stream A Jihad for Love! Click Here

Most of us are aware that it is illegal to be happy in the Muslim world. Homosexuality is very great underground and because of that we know very minute about it. Indian director Parvez Sharma has made a documentary that exposes what is going on in the Muslim countries with regard to the glad snarl. Sharma, himself, is both a devout Muslim and a homosexual and therefore his film is deeply personal. His anecdote is a heartbreaker and as he tells us how he had been ostracized as a cheerful man, he further shows that as a Muslim living in America, he became treated unfairly as a Muslim after 9/11.

The film challenges not only intolerance toward tickled people in the Muslim world but intolerance toward Muslims in the Western world. Sharma spent six years working on the movie and filmed in twelve countries and in nine languages and managed to collect over four hundred hours of film. What Sharma found is incredible. He found a thriving, secretive blissful community in Saudi Arabia and changing attitudes toward homosexuality in both Turkey and India. He also found that, in Egypt, it is possible to be satisfied, if one lives within the regulations of being secretive and underground. Homosexuality is tolerated in the Muslim world as long as people are not begin as long as politics and social identity are not fraction of the person’s life.

I can imagine what a hard job it was to come by the trust of the people who are interviewed in the film and appear with concealed identities, blurred faces, or in silhouette. The fact that he is Muslim unquestionably helped.

The film is one of both dignity and despairs and is a compassionate sight at devout Muslims who struggle to reconcile their religion with their sexual preference. It is intelligent to effect that only one single short passage in the Koran says that homosexuality is a crime punishable by death but even that is questionable by scholars who say that the prohibition may actually deal with rape and not with relations between consenting adults. Even with this some 4,000 people have been build to death in Iran for alleged homosexual acts since 1979.

Sharma feels that his religion has been depicted as a faith of violence when in do it is not but it seems from what we discover in this film that the violence against elated people illustrates what Sharma calls the “high jacking” of his religion.

The movie does not offer solutions. It gives us a portray of what is and does not demonstrate mighty hope for change. It could be the film that brings about change as happened with Sandi Dubowski’s “Trembling Before G-d” survey of joyful and lesbian homosexual Jews. There was a cramped change in thought and that is better than none at all.

Director Parvez Sharma spent more than five years traveling throughout the Muslim world and interviewing lesbians and jubilant men about their life, their faith and their fears as followers of Islam. The results are enlightening, heart rendering and, at times, gross. Like the documentary about satisfied people in the Orthodox Jewish world, Trembling Before G-D, A Jihad For Adore restricts itself to the paradox of religious followers of a faith that seemingly rejects their existence. Of course, the penalty for homosexuality is far more severe in countries ruled by Sharia law, but it is astounding to peek and learn how the faithful deal with what must seem like overwhelming obstacles in simple things that glad people in the Western world hold for granted.

I learned quite a bit from this film that I was previously unaware of, such as the fact that Turkey, although overwhelmingly Muslim, has no laws forbidding homosexuality, and attitudes there concerning homosexuality have always been more relaxed than other parts of the Muslim world. I also was under the groundless impression, as many Westerners are, that jihad means “Holy war”. It actually means “struggle”. Thus the film’s title is quite reliable, and because the film’s creator / director is himself a member of the Muslim faith, the film exudes an aura of self-assured confidence, familiarity and respect for its subject matter that many documentaries cannot hope to accomplish. In current Pakistan, of all places, the Sufi sect celebrates the admire of a 16th century poet and Sufi saint, Shah Hussain, for a Brahmin boy named Madho Lal. Each year on his urs (death anniversary) their admire is illustrious through ritual dances held in the shrine approach the tomb of the two lovers. The scenes of Muslims dancing and celebrating this savor are jarring, and totally at odds with what many in the West have advance to ask from the Muslim world.

One of the most striking things about this documentary is how Mr. Sharma managed to accumulate the men and women interviewed in the film to openly talk about themselves, although most of their faces are not shown. Even though a cheerful Muslim himself, it must have been very difficult to find their trust. More striking aloof is the devotion to their religion that these people level-headed have, and one disagreement with Western culture is how finish they composed are to their parents, and how accepting their fundamentalist parents seem to be, despite the cultural and religious taboos against same-sex adore. That is to say, many of the ecstatic people profiled in the film are composed stop to their families, whereas in Fundamentalist Christian families, many contented children are rejected by their parents completely. There is even a fantastic segment where a Turkish lesbian brings her partner to meet her mother.

There is also a scene where a South African Muslim confronts an Imam, and tells him that the verse in the Qur’an which condemns homosexuality (there is only one, outside of the record of Sodom & Gomorrah) is inaugurate to interpretation. The Imam responds that the only allotment of Muslim law about homosexuality that is inaugurate to interpretation is the severity of the punishment to be inflicted. Such complete close-mindedness will not surprise anyone who has ever tried to argue contented rights with a Christian fundamentalist. It has long been my conception that one of the most severe problems with homosexuality and Islam is that the Muslim religion has no central leadership, in that almost anyone who is a member of Islam can leer to be an Imam and so become a spiritual leader and recognized as an authority on the Muslim religion and what it teaches. As such, many of the leaders of the Islam faith are those who are most fundamental in their interpretation, although the term Imam itself differs completely depending on whether one is a Sunni or a Shiite, the two largest sects in Islam. This documentary is extremely eye-opening, shedding light on what heretofore has only been a sad world of isolation and self-hate. It is definite to engender discussion among Westerners, and may even result in some dialogue within the Muslim world. And at least that’s a open. Highly recommended.

“The Thief,” a fretful and atmospheric noir masterpiece, is one of the most thoroughly interesting espionage movies I have ever seen. The spot is intense and thrilling, the gloomy and white cinematography visually exquisite, the acting friendly. The yarn revolves around a nuclear physicist (Ray Milland) who is also a contemplate. Torn by guilt and doubt and sinking deeper and deeper into dispair as FBI agents discontinuance in on him, he is forced into making a hideous choice. All without a single word of dialogue.

The movie succeeds mainly because of the shining acting ability of Ray Milland. His performance, which owes powerful of its flavour to his Oscar winning role in “The Lost Weekend,” is quite probably his best ever. Dialogue would have destroyed this movie because its atmosphere thrives on the solitude and loneliness of spies and their world.

I have read many reviews that mention that “The Thief” leaves unclear the political convictions of the protagonist as well as the name of the country for which he actually works. Why the emphasis on this I do not understand since the movie intentionally leaves so many things unclear (i.e.: Ray Milland is the only character whose name we learn) . I feel that this works decidedly to the movies’ advantage. Isn’t that the very nature of espionage?

I may be the first person in fifty years who didn’t know the gimmick when I sat down to inspect THE THIEF. At least I didn’t for the first eight minutes or so. Then I checked the wait on of the dvd jacket and saw that THE THIEF contained no dialogue. That explained things. Relaxed, I sat support and found myself enjoying it more and more.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Thief! Click Here

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Thief! Click Here

It begins very slowly. Nuclear physicist Ray Milland is selling secrets to a foreign power. The movie spends a apt chunk of time showing us what he’s doing, who he’s doing it with, and how it’s done. A narrate may indeed be worth a thousand words, but a line or two of dialogue really helps to fade a station along. Without words, but with ambient sounds, a novel acting technique (circa 1952), a important, Oscar-nominated gain by Herschel Burke Gilbert and an artful acting job by Milland the point is made. Milland is by turns scared, terrorized, anxious. And things are going to gather worse.

There are limitations to a movie with no dialogue, or title cards, or even the ever-helpful tag. It’s not until the movie is nearly an hour musty that we finally score to retract a behold over a Fed’s shoulder to read a teletyped message. Of course, by then we’re pros at reading the mute action and the typed message isn’t even that profitable. We’d figured it out two scenes ago. Worse, for the movie-goer, is the introduction of the Rita Gam character (`The Girl’ in the credits.) A tenant in a low-rent apartment building Milland spends some time in, Gam gets to arch her eyebrows fetchingly a time or two, and do gigantic justice to her surname in a toenail painting scene, but her scenes with Milland simply don’t work without dialogue.

No dialogue may taketh away, but it also giveth. THE THIEF develops a distinct feeling of isolation and alienation through its silence. Director Russell Rouse makes stout exhaust of Modern York locations – the public library, the upper reaches of the Empire Spot Building being among the notables – and current camera angles – a ceiling-eye-view of Milland pacing in a shrimp room, a vertigo inducing camera shot from above characters on a observation deck in the Empire Location Building.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Thief! Click Here

I liked THE THIEF very grand. The Girl scenes and the ending may leave a bit to be desired, but only a bit. Overall, I found the movie tantalizing and very palatable.

I received near copies of the Space 1 release and unbiased had to gush about these fantastic DVDs.

In October of 1999 the first wave of James Bond 007 Special Editions was released. It was in fact the second time that the series had seen a release on those bright silver discs having first appeared in the much-maligned “snapper” cases two years earlier. But these special feature laden releases were immediately hailed as setting a fresh benchmark for help catalog releases of movies on DVD.

Buy,Download, Or Stream James Bond Ultimate Edition – Vol. 2! Click Here

Times however have since changed. And the single disc editions that appeared in a plot of three waves in 1999 and 2000 now eye, at best merely serviceable and at worst wholly inadequate when compared to the bumper releases that have been afforded to the likes of other favorites from the last 40-plus years.

So on Tuesday Fox will release the first two of four volumes that are touted as the Ultimate Edition’s of all 20 of the movies in the storied franchise. The collection of special features this time around are a virtual embarrassment of riches and each movie has been remastered by the team that oversaw the work on the modern Star Wars trilogy – Lowry Digital. The result is so impressive that movies the likes of 1964’s “Goldfinger” now contemplate they were made last year instead of over 42 years ago.

John Lowry, who started his career with NASA, spent two and a half years restoring the portray and sound quality on all 20 Bond films, which in total consisted of 42 miles of film. According to information released by the studio the combination of automated computer processing and digital retouching led to the removal of 25 million pieces of dirt and 74,000 “hairs in the gate” in addition to restoring more than 30,000 frames of scratched or torn images.

The incompatibility is most evident in the older movies and when I watched “The Recognize Who Loved Me” (for example) I seriously felt like I was watching a fresh movie – particularly during the demise of the Liparus spruce tanker.

Buy,Download, Or Stream James Bond Ultimate Edition – Vol. 2! Click Here

There has also been an improvement in the audio department has a effect novel 5.1 DTS mix.

The special features will ticket even the most ardent and knowledgeable James Bond fan. Prefer for example the DVD for the 1985 adventure “A Thought to a Waste.” In the 2000 release fans were amazed to examine the inclusion of a hitherto unknown deleted scene spot in a Paris Police Dwelling. In the release Tuesday the Paris scene is unruffled there, but several more deleted scenes join it. These ranges from the scene where fishermen (along with Bond) note outside of the main villains San Francisco operations to a more minor scene that shows said villain and his henchman and henchwoman carrying cans of gasoline into City Hall. Director John Glen who explains why they were eventually crop from the movie introduces each.

This all-inclusive arrive to special features pervades these releases with everything from the inclusion of archival reports from the space for British television to a home movie from the Egyptian location of “The Glimpse Who Loved Me.”

Of course the precise jewel in the crown of the releases are the newly recorded audio commentaries by James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore for his seven movies. Last year Moore recorded the commentaries over a period of five days starting with the last of his movies (A Plan to a Extinguish) and working backwards. He prefaces each of his commentaries by claiming not to remember distinguished about the production history of the movies and urges the listener to merely advance them as a one-way conversation. However, despite his claim Moore does seem to recollect quite a bit about the movies and his light breezy tone and dry wit beget the commentaries a exact way. He does have a habit of getting sidetracked on occasion and discusses other projects other than James Bond, but each of the commentaries is well worth a listen.

My particular well-liked commentary in Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 is the one that accompanies “A Understanding to a Destroy.” For many years fans questionned where Maud Adams’ cameo was in this movie (she had famously visited the position during the San Franciso shoot), with not even Maud Adams smart where she was. Well, there’s a titanic clue to where she appears when Roger Moore remarks that the man walking out of shot is Maud Adams boyfriend. Observe the couple in the background shortly after this boom on the commentary.

The only steady quibble I have is regarding the “007 Mission Control” part of the DVDs. These are merely a collection of clips from the movie and as such seems a astronomical kill of famous disc set. For example say you click on “Girls” from the Mission Control main menu. A menu appears listing the girls in that particular movie and if you click on their name you are provided with a menu listing a series of clips including that character. Not only is this highly redundant for those who have watched the movie (which one would presume people who acquire the DVD have done) but its also very selective. Grasp for example the character of Anya Amasova in “The Observe Who Loved Me.” The first clip offered is her meeting with James Bond at the Kalba club. Surely the first should have been her well-known introduction (where audiences expentations are turned on their head) and the scene where she learns of her lovers death.

Another minor gripe is the treatment of “Die Another Day” in this place. Whereas all the previous yelp from the other movies Special Editions are included in these Ultimate releases, the same cannot be said for the “Die Another Day” discs. Released already as a 2-disc region on its initial DVD release in 2003, this edition seems to have dropped the extensive documentary on the making of the movie. I was not a spacious fan of said documentary as I found it to be largely fluff, but its weird that it was not included here, especially since they probably dilapidated up position that could have accomodated it with the afore-mentioned “Mission Control” piece. There are some attractive tidbits on the “Die Another Day” discs including the “From Script to Shroud” doco (that had appeared previously only in Situation 2) and a gripping coverage of the parachite jump over Buckingham Palace, but the omission of the lengthy “Making of…” documantary from the previous release is puzzling.

The movies are in slim cases. The astronomical horror among Bond fans when images of the cloak packages were released was that it would be a gatefold originate. The slim cases are 2-disc sets with disc 1 facing disc 2.

For those fans and collectors who like to residence the DVDs in chronological order when displaying them on the shelf, there is a solution. The inner casingo for the DVDs are in the familiar shape favorite to storing magazines. This allows the collector to area this casing serve in the box backwards so that the spines of the DVDs (with their titles on them) are facing out.

Recommended for everyone from the casual viewer to the most keen Bond fan.

REVIEW: When you talk about something as iconic as James Bond there really isn’t worthy to say that you as a film enthusiast don’t already know. With the release of Casino Royale we finally discover the definitive editions of the Bond films on DVD. Let me insist you factual now that these sets are absolutely shapely, the treatment that the films got are first-rate of their iconic situation. The Bond films have thrilled generations from 1962 to 2006 and we all know Bond will return to thrill in the future.

Ian Fleming had no understanding what he had on his hands when he wrote Casino Royale and introduced this mysterious dapper look into the world of fiction. It’s a shame that Fleming only survived long enough to see the first two films in the franchise. The reason why the films have lasted as long as they have is because of the formula, which is discussed a bit on The World Is Not Enough DVD. There are sure elements to the Bond formula that audiences have near to ask. It’s droll, because if any of these ingredients are mature in any mature action movie then that movie is labeled unoriginal and formulaic. However, with the Bond films it’s a rule of thumb that positive ingredients have to be used: there has to be some sort of dwelling of world domination, a villain with some sort of fresh physical characteristic, the girls (both marvelous and dreadful), the car, the gadgets, the romance, the stunts, the locales, and of course that element of fantasy. Every Bond film has those ingredients, the only thing that stays the same between the films is the element of fantasy. Well, that peaceful doesn’t account for why the Bond films have continued to be successful, I mean what is the appeal? We have a protagonist that cannot die, an antagonist who must die, we know how the gadgets work before he uses them, and we all know Bond gets the girl and saves the world. Why does that appeal to people so remarkable? I judge it’s because it’s fantasy yet it seems extremely attainable and realistic. We want to occupy that there is a man out there who is a gawk, who travels around the world to foil terrorist plots, who gets all the women, and basically can hurry from any station no matter how grim it looks. No other action film has replicated what a Bond film can do even though there have been so many attempts.

The current DVD sets are what DVD sets should be. The “Ultimate Edition” effect on them couldn’t be more fair in that these sets are the definitive Bond experience. Lowry Digital did a frame by frame restoration of every film and the result is absolutely spectacular. We also have tag current DTS 5.1 tracks for each film. Each film is also loaded with extras, an astounding amount of extras that will retract you probably months to rep through. The films are divided into 4 volumes with 5 movies in each position. The only downfall of the sets are that they are packaged and sold out of chronological order, which makes it irritating for collectors like myself who likes everything to be in order. Everybody is complaining and wondering why they released them like this, and it’s really simple marketing here. If they were to sell the sets with films going chronological order then people who maybe only like Connery as Bond will only catch one volume. By spreading each Bond across all four sets then people are forced to choose all the sets. My query is why don’t they fair get one vast box situation for the dedicated fans with all the movies status in order. They did that with the previous releases in the UK, and I assume that die hard fans would go for a dwelling like that. Anyway, despite the compilations of the volumes, these are fantastic sets.

VOLUME 2:

Thunderball (1965) : The one and only Bond film to catch an Oscar (Best Visual Effects) takes Bond to the Bahamas where he tracks down SPECTRE’s number-two man, Largo. The film has some astounding chases and of course the eminent jetpack flee. Tom Jones delivers an improbable performance for the opening title song and sets up a classic Bond adventure with shark tanks and all.

The Notice Who Loved Me (1977) : This was one of my celebrated Bonds mostly because of the seemingly invincible Jaws, a Bond villain as iconic as Oddjob. Only in a Bond film can you have a villain who has steel jaws that can bite through metal and it all seems completely plausible. An unbelievable fight atop a cable car is one of the film’s most memorable scenes.

A Thought To A Raze (1985) : Roger Moore’s last film in the series is a memorable one, mostly because of Christopher Walken’s portrayal of Max Zorin. You also have the fabulous and climactic action scene atop the Golden Gate Bridge including a giant blimp. The only thing about the movie that I didn’t like was the character of May Day who is objective bizarre looking and doesn’t perceive like a femme fatale at all, although she does lead Bond up an sharp climb up the Eiffel Tower.

License To Slay (1989) : The first Bond film to effect a PG-13 rating is a bit different than Dalton’s first outing as Bond. I found the truck skedaddle at the raze to be really well done, but overall the movie honest didn’t bellow out Bond to me. I mean, Bond is basically a rogue agent in this movie and that impartial doesn’t seem to fit the character. Robert Davi creates a deliciously contemptible drug lord, except instead of a cat he has an iguana. You’ll explore a really young Benicio Del Toro as a disposable henchman.

Die Another Day (2002) : The 20th official Bond film would also be Pierce Brosnan’s last, a descision to this day that has a few people scratching their heads. While Daniel Craig looks to invent a obliging bond, it was Brosnan who embodied the modern age Bond, but apparently he wasn’t hip enough. Die Another Day was directed by Lee Tamahori, a choice I mild quiz since he went on to impart xXx: Situation Of The Union upright after this. In this film Bond battles a Chinese guy who gets a urge change and turns into a British guy, who wants to be all mighty, who lives in an ice palace. Yeah, so the film is a bit overstretched, but there are some astronomical scenes that obtain it worthwhile. The hovercraft stride at the beginning will give your home theater a astronomical workout, and the car meander on the ice was very impressive. The fact that the unpleasant guy is unbiased some guy with diamonds imbedded in his skin makes it kind of lame, and Halle Berry doesn’t gain a helpful Bond girl at all. Her lines and her acting are all droll, but she does examine first-rate in an Ursula Andress style bikini. There is one scene were Bond takes a parachute and a fragment of metal and surfs a giant tidal wave that was called one of the most ridiculous Bond moments ever. Madonna also hurts the film not only with her techno title song, but her pointless cameo. Die Another Day has some sizable action, but the status is over the top even for a Bond film.

VIDEO: Okay, now let’s talk about how resplendent these sets are. Lowry Digital (now DTS) did a frame by frame restoration for each film. The older films are where you will recognize the incompatibility. The color and quality are not impartial brighter, but they are richer. What once looked mature and washed now looks keen and textured. Dismal levels are not fuzzy and they are incredibly spirited. In Goldfinger the Aston Martin is so sparkling you feel like you can touch it. Overall it’s breathtaking what they accomplished with these restorations.

AUDIO: The sound department is even more impressive. My ragged Bond DVD’s were not fun to witness on my surround system. Now every single film in the residence has a ticket original 5.1 DTS mix that will blow you away. Sound is an famous component to film, and even though some people oppose creating 5.1 mixes from mono and stereo tracks there is an undeniable advantage to the recent mixes. The sound now envelopes you and the explosions truly consume the surround channels. The dialogue is mostly dedicated to the center channel for the older films. Overall the improvements are noticeable and truly succor the viewing experience.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Objective when you plan that the improved represent and sound was enough, we have a seemingly endless supply of special features and goodies. For owners of the outmoded sets there will be some familiar stuff. The main “making of” featurettes, which hasten for around 30-40 minutes each, are the same documentaries that were found on the weak sets. However, we have a bunch of archival footage added on and some bonus featurettes that have never been seen before. There is even an incredibly frail on location interview with Connery on the Goldfinger DVD that looks like it was about to disintegrate before it was digitalized. The DVD’s also have lots of cloak tests, lots of featurettes on the cars and the supporting characters. There also various commentaries on the DVD’s. There is so grand bonus material to work through that you will probably aloof be watching featurettes once the other 2 volumes are released in December. While the modern transfers and sound mixes alone get the sets a must catch, the current special features should invent you flip with joy.

BOTTOM LINE: I have been a gigantic Bond fan ever since I was shrimp. I owned all of them on VHS and previously on DVD. These Ultimate Editions are absolutely handsome and are in no scheme some marketing stint to mooch off the publicity of Casino Royale. Yes they are being released with the opening of Casino Royale in theaters, but you can order a whole lot of work went into these sets. Definately worth the upgrade, this is the longest running franchise in film history and it continues to bellow quality action entertainment.
Female Libido Enhancer
Quick Trim

Very few war films have a script with impartial two characters and all the lines in the movie are spoken by those two characters only. One wouldn’t contemplate this would be a war film, but it is. This classic WWII war film focuses on the pinacole of opposite human beings, thrust together and forced to survive on each other’s individual strengths. Mr. Allison (R. Mitchum) is the marine who beaches on an island after being cast a drift in the Pacific Ocean for several days. There he searches the island and finds only one living person: a nun. Sister Angela (D. Kerr) is a dedicated nun who accompanied a priest to the island but got marooned there instead, and the priest dying a day or so later. Mr. Allison and Sister Angela work as a team on the island in order to retain themselves. They do everything together: they score island fruit, fish for turtles, construct a fly, and have deep conversations about each other’s contrary occupations and past.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Heaven Knows Mr. Allison! Click Here

The character of Mr. Allison is brilliantly developed and is easily likeable among viewers. He is portrayed as a spacious tiresome guy, with a soft heart and top marine skills. He’s clumsy with words and he’s very initiate about his feelings, which at times puts Sister Angela in downhearted positions. Equally developed is Sister Angela, who is greatly sympathized by the many stresses she is forced to endure. She rarely speaks unless spoken to by Mr. Allison, as she is obviously heart-broken around him half the time. But as the report progresses, she becomes more and more accustomed with having him around and a mutual fondness for each other develops.

The film is highly fresh and thorougly challenging. Although it’s a movie about a man and woman, it is not a romance. Even though they are alone on an island together, there’s no hint of carnal pleasure for each other. Instead, the movie shows how a man and woman can compose a relationship of trust, not honest in order to survive, but because they are alone together. It is a movie of friends, not lovers, which is very current of Hollywood. The results are phenominally racy and realistic.

Since it is a war film, there are explosions and guns and some action sequences, but most of it is toned down. Situation in the Pacific Theatre during WWII, there are Japanese marines depicted in the film, but no characters are established amongst them. If any criticism is due for this film it is the need for a more pleasant ending. There is quite a bit of silence throughout the movie, a lot of sounds from the ocean and exotic birds chirping. It’s as relaxing as it is sharp.

The film is rated G, there is no language (certainly not from Sister Angela!) and no indecency of any kind. Some blood, but it’s not worth hiding a kid’s eyes over. Only if one is offended by Catholicism or someone getting drunk on Japanese liquor would this film have any make of warnings at all.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Heaven Knows Mr. Allison! Click Here

To summarize, Heaven Knows Mr. Allison is an new kind of war movie with highly developed characters. It’s an queer film in today’s market of entertainment in regards to what a man and woman can do together. This film shows the sexes not at odds or in lust with each other, but shows them as a team working toward a popular goal. It’s easily a family film and a movie worth watching time and again.
Quick Trim
Pregnancy Stretch Mark Cream

Ms O’Day preferred the title “stylist” as opposed to “singer” which I bag an engrossing distinction. I fetch she made the distinction in acknowledgement that she had exiguous vocal range, an ordinary tone, and a weird timbre.

My first famous encounter with her music was post Gene Krupa with the release in 1956 of ANITA by Norman Granz and the best version of HONEYSUCKLE ROSE with its solo bass opening and quartet of trombones closing the final chorus. The whole album though, was and remains, one of her best, and one of the best of any JAZZ singer. And that’s where her reputation so superbly lies – as one of the very best JAZZ vocalists ever, and an individual woman who was a big survivor in a very difficult business – that she was embraced by the jazz community including afro american musicians, she got through the heroin coast, she overcame the “canary” prejudice of “girl” singer by her musical brilliance in being favorite rather as another musical INSTRUMENT instead of the “front” for a band.

This documentary – one of the best (musical ones) I’ve seen which was featured in the 2008 Sydney Film Festival – also reveals her character. Lawful strength, modesty, honesty, concept and self awareness and I guess, joy of music, of living, are her distinguishing characteristics.

PLenty of sterling music in the film as well!!

For a film documentary profile, there’s no substitute for vast footage of the subject him/herself providing their have reflections on his/her life and career. It’s colossal that this documentary captures so remarkable of Anita’s fill charmingly candid recollections of the ups and downs in her under-appreciated career. An spirited notice of the life of a vast, tall jazz singer.
Lipo 6
HGH Energizer
